One of the most interesting challenges I worked on while at Pivot Communication involved a simultaneous public awareness campaign and branding effort for Boulder County’s complex Department of Housing and Human Services. Having recently merged together, the department was refining its internal systems as well as working to promote the ideas encompassed in its tagline, “Hope for the future, help when you need it.” The department worked with my team at Pivot to create user-friendly branding as well as messaging efforts around de-stigmatizing services.
The Boulder County Department of Housing and Human Services offers support to those who need it – health coverage, food and financial assistance, and numerous other services for the young and old. The problem? Many Boulder County residents were unaware of the scope of services available, and even when they were, felt hesitant to ask for help. The department itself had recently undergone mergers and internal reorganization, and it welcomed the opportunity to streamline its messaging and look with an internal and external campaign.
